Parkview Home in Wayland, Iowa provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation and residential care in a homelike setting across from the city park. Above you will find the nursing services we offer, and below we explain what each one means and how care can be paid for, so you can quickly see whether Parkview is the right fit for you or someone you love.

 

What these services mean for you

24-hour skilled and intermediate nursing care. Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants are on duty day and night. Care plans are created with the resident, the family and our interdisciplinary team.

 

Rehab to home. After a stroke, a fracture or elective surgery, our one-on-one physical, occupational and speech therapy helps you regain your prior level of function and return home when it is medically appropriate.

 

Residential and independent living. Eighteen private residential care (RCF) rooms and a two-room suite offer medication administration, meals and nursing oversight, while Parkview Village and our apartments serve seniors who live independently. Compare them on our living options page.

 

Respite and hospice. Respite stays give family caregivers time to rest. Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity and support for the whole family.

 

Clinical services. Pain management, intravenous (IV) therapy, tube feedings, wound care management and medication management are provided by our licensed nursing staff, with weekly in-house physician visits.

 

Restorative nursing. Our very active restorative nursing program helps residents keep strength, balance and independence for as long as possible.

 

Who our nursing care is for

Our nursing services are a good fit for people recovering from a hospital stay who need therapy before going home, for people with ongoing medical needs that require 24-hour professional nursing, and for families who need a short respite stay or end-of-life support. If you are not sure which level of care is right, our nurses will help you sort it out.

 

Working with families

We understand that families are a vital part of each resident's life and care, and we strive for transparency. Care plans are developed with the resident and family, and our team takes time to learn each person's life story so care reflects who they are, not only their diagnosis.

 

Close to hospitals and specialists

Parkview is located between hospitals in Washington (about 10 miles) and Mt. Pleasant (about 17 miles), and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is about 45 miles away. Our 12-passenger bus helps residents get to medical appointments when needed.

 

Paying for care

Parkview Home accepts private payment, long-term care insurance, Medicare A & B and Medicaid/Managed Care. Medicare Part A may cover a short-term skilled nursing or rehabilitation stay when Medicare's requirements are met. Medicaid can help with long-term nursing care for people who qualify. Because Parkview is a nonprofit, we reinvest in our home, our residents, our staff, staff training and staff benefits.
